Treasures of the Sorcerers: Blades Class-Bundle
Treasures of the Sorcerers: Blades Class-Bundle
A one-off self-contained class-bundle examining swords, daggers, athames, and other magic blades in mythology, religion, history and sorcery; from their constructions and consecrations to their magical implementations and meanings. This class-bundle consists of a two-hour illustrated lecture recording, accompanying slide deck, and a bibliography of further study.
From the ancient weapons that thwarted demonic powers and the legendary swords of kingship to the knives of the sorcerous Art that delineate magic circles and gather and prepare materia magica, magical blades have both a rich history and a potent range of uses for a variety of magical practitioners to this day.
This Treasures of the Sorcerers: Blades class-bundle is a self-contained module originally part of the larger five-part Treasures of the Sorcerers course series. In this class, we explore the variety of magical swords, knives, and scimitars, as well as the athames and bolines of various forms of ritual magic and witchcraft. In examining these bladed magical weapons, we consider various perspectives on magical power, authority, the piercing and analytical faculties of the intellect, and the importance of setting boundaries in our sorcery.
In investigating the early history of metallurgy, myths of enchanted weapons, and the traditional instructions for consecrating and wielding the mighty swords and black-handled knives of grimoiric conjuration, the practical craft-blades and knife charms of folk magic, the athame and boline of witchcraft traditions, the Airy daggers of ceremonial magic, and many more instances of sharp sorcerous ritual tools, we will examine how such implements were enchanted, flourished, and how exactly they can be employed in our magics.
