Treasures of the Sorcerers: Garments Class-Bundle
Treasures of the Sorcerers: Garments Class-Bundle
A one-off self-contained class-bundle examining clothes, footwear, headgear, and other magic garments in mythology, religion, history and sorcery; from their constructions and consecrations to their magical implementations and meanings. This class-bundle consists of a two-hour illustrated lecture recording, accompanying slide deck, and a bibliography of further study.
From the enchanted cloaks and boots of legend and the starry robes of the archetypal wizard, to the regalia of the ceremonial magician and other potent mantles of sorcerous authority and magical power, there has long been an importance placed upon the proper ritual attire of the magus and witch.
This Treasures of the Sorcerers: Garments class-bundle is a self-contained module originally part of the larger five-part Treasures of the Sorcerers course series. In this class, we explore the variety of consecrated raiment, vestures, and worn apparel of ritual magic and witchcraft. In examining these magical garments, we consider various perspectives on magical costumery, evoking a commanding presence, and the importance of dressing the part in our sorcery.
This survey of ritual attire and enchanted clothing explores both ceremonial robes of office and apparel created for particular effects such as magical cloaks, garters, and more; as well as examining the range of often religiously-significant garments discussed in the grimoires and working-books of conjurors and spiritworkers: from crowns and mitres, to stoles, albs, and phylacteries.
