In this class presentation, professional geomancer and artist Dr Alexander Cummins shares some of his experiences and experiments in using geomancy to gain clarity, inspiration, and focus for a range of creative and artistic endeavours.

We explore approaches to art most generally, as well as non-fiction and fiction writing more specifically, as well as considering how we can best frame our queries and quesiting of the shield chart divinations we might cast for useful perspectives and directions.

We take a detailed look at how the Sixteen Figures speak in Nati, the Fifth House which answers questions of Creativity, as well as Regnum, the Tenth House which offers remediations and strategies of success.

We present some options for troubleshooting our creative difficulties: from geomantic divination and spellcraft for working through writer’s block, to a range of geomantic solutions, processes, and good habits for actually finishing the projects we start.

Finally, we consider a range of empowered tools for creativity: from consecrating notebooks and sketchpads to formulating magical inks, chalks, and pigments. We will also furnish students with approaches to building and working geomantic talismans and spirit-vessels for organising research, finding inspiration, tending our consistent practice, and maintaining good artistic habits.
