From ancient fables and modern fictions concerning the power and perils of rings of invisibility, to legendary signets of authority over spirits and enchanted rings which imbue the wearer with various sorcerous powers and abilities, the use of magical rings has a rich and faceted history and range of applications.

This Treasures of the Sorcerers: Rings class-bundle is a self-contained module originally part of the larger five-part Treasures of the Sorcerers course series. In this class, we appraise traditions and examples of magical rings: from the infamous and ritually-authoritative ring of King Solomon to many instances of wearable precious and semi-precious stones and other materia for various protections, empowerments, and spell-craft. Along the way we discuss occult lapidary lore concerning the magical use of stones and minerals, as well as how the virtues of the stars and spirits were imbued and deployed through them.

This survey will include study of the range of grimoiric instructions for preparing and using rings to summon, perceive, and direct spirits; the consecration and utilities of astrological lapidary artefacts to work planetary magics; the stones and settings to incubate revelatory dreams; and a few little-studied collections of traditional charm-rings for a range of remarkably practical functions.
