A self-contained one-off class-bundle exploring a particular technique in geomantic divination, known as the Via Puncti or “Way of the Points”, used for assessing underlying conditions and influences in shield charts. This class-bundle includes the recording of the 150-minute lecture and the accompanying slide-deck, along with access to full scans of pre-modern primary sources on geomantic divination and magic (including fully searchable .txt files scans of these sources), and a bibliography of further recommended study of geomancy.
The shield chart of geomantic divination offers a wide range of methods for assessing both overall conditions and particular facets of a situation. One such divinatory method is known as the Via Puncti, the Way of the Points. While not present in every chart, in shields where such a Way can be traced it offers additional guidance for considering underlying factors or additional clarifying advice.
Significantly, these Ways of the Points highlight the value of examining a dimension of conditions that we may not have expected to be significant before casting the chart. The Via Puncti presents an invaluable divinatory technique for measuring and assessing the parts of situation we didn’t initially consider that we needed to examine.
Here then, we may discover aid from unexpected corners, advice from unanticipated considerations, or simply a fuller and clearer sense of how to pursue goals and avoid difficulties from an expanded field of vantage on the situation upon which we are divining. This can include consideration of how to apply this additional information into helpful assessments of the realities and possibilities open to us, and indeed formulation of particular remediations and strategies for best navigating those conditions.
